Quick Tips on Writing Websites

Here are some quick tips on writing for your website:

1. Know your audience. If you are an engineering company and your target audience is engineers, a higher level of English can be used to communicate with your clients. When in doubt, the simpler the better--complicated terms should be explained, when needed.

2. Know your product. This may seem obvious, but having a go-to definition of your products and services is necessary; this goes hand in hand with the bullet above, as that definition needs to be easily conveyed.

3. Be clear and concise. This is where "just the facts," comes into play. People visiting your website will not be interested in what you ate that morning--they want to know what you're selling.
